Melbourne Day 2
October 18, 2019
Landed in Melbourne at 2PM.

Took the Skybus into the city (*$20) and checking into the Holiday Inn Melbourne on Flinders. They were still cleaning the room, so complimentary drinks were had at the hotel bar.

The suite is on the 8th floor and is overlooking Spencer St with a great view of Southern Cross train station. There were bottles of water and freeze dried coffee in the room. Gratis.

The hotel is inside the free tram zone, so there are trams every 5-8 minutes coming and going around downtown - All Free.

Went to the Ippudo, Uniqlo, and Daiso. They’re all in Chinatown/QV Shopping Centre.

Ippudo has the Akamaru with flavored egg, but it was a little too thick and fatty. They just opened a few weeks ago so perhaps they’re still working out the kinks. The queue went quickly and we were seated within 15 minutes despite the long ling.

Uniqlo was unfortunately quite expensive with none of the 990, 9.90, $10 deals that are to be had in cheaper markets. However it may be due to it being fall and quite chilly here. Most of the offerings were for wool sweaters, and other thick material items.

Daiso had a great deal more items than we are used to, but with fewer household items such as garden supplies. With this being a extremely metropolitan area, it doesn’t surprise me.
